Since Android 6.0 Marshmallow prepares to deploy to multiple devices and media this week, there are a number of OEMs whose apps and services that will be made obsolete by the new offerings from Google's latest update. Motorola is one of those, and because they emphasize that their philosophy is to complement and not compete with Android, they announced that they are discontinuing certain features, while incorporating a number of the new system once your device is updated.
Now you can use the Talk to Me feature so that your messages will be read to you while driving or when your hands and eyes free. Moto Assist is not declared obsolete, but rather some of its functions are integrated into Marshmallow. The new Do Not Disturb feature of Android is something that is familiar to Moto-users because they have had it for some time. But now instead of using Motoring Assist, you can turn it on via the settings menu, so your phone will keep quiet during meetings or when you are sleeping.
Meanwhile, Motorola Connect Google Chrome extension is no longer supported, but you can still use until November. It is suggested to use other 3rd party apps such as Push Bullet to do the same functions. Motorola Migrate will no longer be available once you have installed Marshmallow, but you can still use Android Migrate if you are in Lollipop at this time.
Other functions are integrated into other Motorola sections. Attentive Display, which dim your screen when you're not looking, is now at Moto actions. Moto Display settings are in one place, and if you are in Marshmallow, then you have more music apps that can be supported in the music controls. Motorola has already announced that will update their devices to Marshmallow, but no specific date is not known yet.
