How To Enable Windows 10 Hey Cortana

One of the best parts of Windows 10 is its deep integration with Cortana, helpful digital assistant from Microsoft. Cortana to really work for you, but it helps the voice activation feature up and running. That way your next file search, weather control, or command to open an app is just a "Hey, Cortana" away.


To begin, click on the icon Cortana / search box in the taskbar. Then click on the icon notebook Cortana in the left navigation panel, it is just below the house icon. (If you have not yet activated Cortana, you must follow the steps that appear to turn on before you see the standard Cortana interface follow.)

On the notebook screen, click Settings, then in the Settings window, the slider to move on under the "Cortana Hey" section. Once you've done it will appear a new option called "Reply best."

Here you have the option to respond Cortana on someone or just your voice. If you do the latter by clicking Learn to choose my voice, Cortana ask you to repeat six different phrases to your voice pattern down.

That's all there is to prepping Cortana's voice. Remember that this feature you must have an active microphone, whether it is integrated using your laptop or an external third party peripherals.

Depending on your hardware, Windows may warn you that the microphone is not working and that Cortana "may not be able to clearly hear you." Sometimes, however, the microphone will work regardless of the warning.
