Google Drive Gets Mobile Notifications for Shared Files And Folders

Keep track of the documents that people share with you via your Google Drive is about to get a little easier.

In addition to e-mail warnings about shared files, Google will now send notifications to your iOS or Android device when someone shares a file or folder with you on Google Drive. Even better, you can click on the notification to view the shared items with a single tap.

Meanwhile, it should now be easier to apply and provide access to the files from your phone. Android users can request access to view a file with a single press, which should be helpful when someone shares a link to a file with you, but forgot to give him access. On both iOS and Android, meanwhile, file owner will be notified of applications for file access on their device, so that they can quickly take action.

So far, you need an account to view the shared files on your Android device. Now you can do it without an account, just like on the web.

Google has already introduced new mobile notifications for shared folders and files, and said that the rest of these tweaks will be introduced over the next few weeks.

Pandora Offering 24Hrs Of Ad-Free Music For 99 Cents

Pandora Offering 24Hrs Of Ad-Free Music For 99 Cents

Pandora has offered ad-free streaming for a while now with their Pandora One membership, but it’s not worth forking over $4.99 a month when you only use it every once in a while. Starting this Thursday, you can buy a day’s worth of ad-free streaming for $0.99.

The new service, Pandora One Day Pass, is pretty straight-forward. Once you choose to buy a day pass, you get 24 hours of ad-free streaming across any Pandora capable devices you own. It’s perfect for when you’re hosting a party, having a barbecue, or going on a long drive and don’t want ads killing the vibe. Obviously, if you’re a regular listener, the standard Pandora One subscription is a much better deal. This service is geared more for occasional users only. The One Day Pass is available Thursday, but to lead up to it, Pandora is streaming 24 hours of ad-free music for their 10th anniversary tomorrow.
