MIT Scientists Develop New Three Times Faster WiFi Technology

If you use your device to connect to the Internet in a big noisy environment, you would experience a slow communication. This is because, WiFi signals interfere with each other because there isn’t enough bandwidth on the wireless spectrum to handle all the traffic from the devices that are trying to use the spectrum at the same time.

MIT scientists claim to have created a new wireless technology with which Wi-Fi data rates can triple, while also doubling the range of the signal. Dubbed MegaMIMO 2.0, the system will soon be commercialized and could relieve the pressure on our increasingly crowded wireless networks. Multiple-input multiple-output, or MIMO technology helps network devices perform better by using multiple transmitters and receivers operating simultaneously, which then transmit and receive multiple data signal simultaneously. MIT's MegaMIMO 2.0 works by allowing multiple routers to work in harmony, sending data on the same piece of spectrum.

MIT claimed that during the tests MegaMIMO 2.0 was able to increase data transfer speed of four laptops connected to the same Wi-Fi network by morethan 300 percent. The technology is expected to be also applied to mobile networks to solve similar congestion issues.

Verizon Bumps Up Data Plan Offer

Verizon had bumped up its pre paid data, back in february, as a promotional offer for the pre-paid lines. Now the new reports say that, the new offer is becoming permanent.
According to the plan, Folks on the $45, 1GB month-to-month plan will have an additional 2GB of mobile data and the $60 plan jumps from 3GB of data to 6GB. You will be getting  this offer only if you haave opted for the auto-pay option, otherways there will be a slight difference in the plan. Which means, If you have choosen for the manual pay option, you will be getting only 2 gb for $45 and 5 gb for $60.

Botg this options also include unlimited calling to Mexico and Canada at no extra charge.

Windows 10 To Discontinue WiFi Sense

Microsoft had introduced a new feature called WiFi Sense, One of its cornerstones is the ability to share password protected Wi-Fi networks with contacts, making them more convenient to connect to our network when friends visit us. Unfortunately, there were not many people in love with the idea. Microsoft removed WiFi Sense contact sharing with its latest Windows 10 Insider preview version after observing that it is not worth working on -- low usage and low demand. It will remain untouched in slower Insider builds and regular releases of Windows 10 for now, but would disappear for all when the anniversary update comes out in the summer.

This does not mean that all of WiFi Sense features are being discontinued. It will still automatically connect you to public hotspots using crowdsourcing data, so you're safe if you primarily use the function to get online at airports and coffee shops.

Sprint Will Throttle Unlimited Data After 23GB

If you are a sprint unlimited cell phone plan user, then i recommend you to use it at the maximum. Because soon you will be in a situation, where your unlimited data plan will be throttled after using 23 GB.

Dr. John Saw, Sprint CTO, said in a statement that, If unlimited customers use more than 23GB of data during a billing cycle, they will be prioritized in the network under other customers for the rest of their billing cycle.

You do not get cut off, but you'll probably find lower speeds.

Yet 23GB is a fairly generous amount of data. You'd have to be pretty phone addicts to meet this limitation, watching a lot of video on cellular or streaming 60 hours of music, for example. According Saw, only about 3 percent of Sprint's customers' use overwhelming disproportionate network resources. " Impose 23GB limit is aimed at "preventing any portion of that 3 percent goes forward from affecting the other 97 percent of customers negatively."

Sprint's unlimited plan, however, received only a little more expensive. On Thursday increased the price from $ 60 to $ 70 a month. Verizon will reportedly do the same to those vested in their unlimited plans next month, but with a $ 20 per month hike.

Border, meanwhile, is in line with Sprint's competitors. AT & T allows those with unlimited data plans to consume up to 22GB of data per month until their Internet access cut off, while T-Mobile slows things down for 21GB. Last year, Verizon Wireless is canceled plans to throttle heavy data users on 4G LTE middle pressure from the FCC.
