If you're one of the hundreds of millions of people in the world who use WhatsApp for your messages, you might want to save your message history from time to time. Now, you can automatically backup your whatsapp messages to Google Drive.
The new feature allows you to back up your messages to a Google Drive account that you specify automatically. Alternatively, the interval at which your messages backed up daily, weekly or monthly. This backup can even include all of the videos you've shared. You can backup to another device, or the same after a reset.
To backup the messages automatically do the Following steps
- Open WhatsApp.
- Go to Menu Button > Settings > Chats and calls > Chat backup.
- Tap on Back up to Google Drive and set up the backup frequency to your liking.
- You will be prompted to select a Google account that you will back up your chat history to. If you do not have a Google account, tap Add account when prompted. Please remember the Google account you are using for the backup.
- Tap on Back up over to choose the network you wish to use for backup. Please note that backing up over cellular may result in additional data charges.
To backupthe messages manually do the Following steps Open WhatsApp.
- Go to Menu Button > Settings > Chats and calls > Chat backup.
- Tap on Back up to Google Drive and select a backup frequency other than Never.
- Tap on Back Up to begin your Google Drive backup. This process may take a few minutes.
